Free to fall is particularly open to dance artists, choreographers, physical theatre makers and contemporary artists who work with performative or movement related contexts and ideas. This can also include or be in collaboration with other disciplines e.g. musicians, photographers, film makers, and visual artists. This exciting development helps provide more opportunities for contemporary artists to show their work and discuss their ideas through the Free to Fall forum. Free to Fall Scratch is currently closed What we look for and support: 1. New ideas, works in progress or work at an early stage of development. We strongly encourage scratch artists to submit work at its earliest stage to benefit from audience and peer feedback. 2 . Visual Installation/Performance Work - Gallery basedWe encourage work that has a more visual arts element and site specific or experimental performances that would suit a gallery space rather than a theatre setting, to be submitted this year. Further Development Work that as already appeared at Free to Fall may be selected for further support from the Free to Fall network and support ladder. This is not by application but decided by the Free to Fall team and related artist panel. Last year Renaud Wiser, Melanie Lomoff and John Ross were chosen to be supported by Free to Fall/SmikleProject , some receiving ACE application support, a producer and various R and D and performance opportunities.
